Mastering the Art of Steel Welding and Assembly

Welding and assembly are critical stages where individual steel plates and sections transform into heavy-duty load-bearing components. At HFCG Building Tech, our manufacturing facility is engineered to execute complex structural assemblies—ranging from heavy bridge box girders and industrial columns to long-span roof trusses.

We adhere strictly to engineering blueprints and global welding codes. By pairing skilled mechanical assembly with advanced robotic and automated welding technologies, we guarantee superior weld penetration, alignment precision, and long-term structural reliability.

Our Systematic Welding & Assembly Workflow

Every component undergoes a controlled, multi-step assembly and welding process to eliminate distortion and ensure ultimate strength:

  1. Component Fitting & Tack Welding: Precision jig-based alignment of cut steel plates, webs, and flanges according to shop drawings, secured with tack welds.
  2. Automated & Semi-Automated Welding: Execution of primary structural seams using Submerged Arc Welding (SAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).
  3. Weld Slag Removal & Cleaning: Post-weld cleaning, spatter removal, and surface preparation for subsequent inspection stages.
  4. Post-Weld Correction & Alignment: Thermal or mechanical straightening to neutralize residual stresses and ensure tight dimensional tolerances.
  5. Joint Quality Inspection: Conducting mandatory non-destructive testing (NDT) on critical weld seams to verify internal and external integrity.

Advanced Welding & Assembly Machinery

Our workshop is outfitted with high-capacity machinery designed to streamline heavy welding operations:

  • Gantry Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) Machines: High-efficiency automated welding rigs for long continuous seams on H-beams and box columns.
  • Multi-Position MIG/MAG Welding Stations: Operated by certified professional welders for complex structural joints and non-standard connections.
  • Hydraulic Assembly & Straightening Machines: Precision equipment ensuring zero-distortion assembly of heavy web-flange profiles.
  • Heavy-Duty Positioning Rotators & Cranes: Enabling seamless 360-degree rotation of oversized steel members for optimal down-hand welding positions.

Rigorous Weld Inspection & Quality Records

Weld quality is directly linked to structural safety. We implement a multi-tier inspection regime for all welding outputs:

  • Visual Testing (VT): 100% visual inspection of weld profiles, dimensions, surface defects, and undercut checks.
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Advanced Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) applied to critical full-penetration butt welds and high-stress joints.
  • Inspection Documentation: Issuance of detailed weld inspection reports and traceability records prior to surface treatment and shipping.

Compliance with International Welding Standards

Our welding operations and welder qualifications comply with globally recognized engineering standards. Backed by corporate enterprise certifications, HFCG Building Tech ensures that every welded assembly meets the rigorous specifications required by international EPC contractors and global project owners.
